The subscription rate for 2017 remains unaltered (as it has done since 2004):

2017 rate
Ordinary membership
£ 15.00
Student membership
£ 7.50

It would be a huge help if PIs of research groups (or their designates) organise memberships for their group if possible, as it will maximise the efficiency of renewals and the joining of any potential new members.

Membership fees are unchanged at £7.50 for students and £15 for full members. Payments can be made by:

1) bank transfer. Account name: Northwest European section IUSSI; account number: 16100247; sort code: 602462; IBAN: GB86NWBK60246216100247; SWIFT/BIC: NWBKGB2L; bank address: Natwest, Main Street, Heslington, York, YO10 5ZB

2) paypal to NWEuropeanSection.iussi@gmail.com

3) cheques payable to Northwest European section IUSSI. Cheques can be sent to:

Elizabeth Duncan
Faculty of Biological Sciences
University of Leeds
Leeds, LS2 9JT

Be sure to include your name as a reference when renewing by bank transfer or paypal. When you have renewed, please simply let me know how and when you have paid and also let me know if you would like a receipt for your records. You don’t need to complete the membership form (downloadable below) unless your details have changed.

If you do not wish to renew then please also let the treasurer (e.j.duncan@leeds.ac.uk) know to avoid receiving further reminders.

Annual payments are due by 28 February 2017

The membershp form for 2017 is available for download here as a Microsoft word document or a PDF file

If you have any questions about membership, please contact the section treasurer, Elizabeth Duncan, at e.j.duncan@leeds.ac.uk

Changes to Insectes Sociaux subscriptions since 2008

Since 2008, the IUSSI (North-west European section, and all other sections world wide) no longer handles subscriptions to Insectes Sociaux. Birkhauser has taken over direct handling of all subscriptions from individuals. With the new arrangement, Sections will no longer have any responsibility for collecting subscriptions, handling money, negotiating complaints, etc. Birkhauser will communicate directly with subscribers concerning renewals . Gratis subscriptions will continue to be provided to the Editorial Board as at present. If you have questions, please contact Birkhauser directly at petra.stromberger@birkhauser.ch

The web page for the journal can be found at:

The north-west European section will, however, continue to collect membership subscriptions as before (see above)
